Shot Show 2022 - Real Avid

This year’s Shot Show in Las Vegas is in full swing. As well as the year before, hundreds of brands and manufacturers from all over the world gathered to present their products. At the Shot Show, we can see some of the products that are already being sold, along with some completely new ones.

Some of our envoys are currently in Las Vegas keeping their ears to the ground for any news about new products which will also be present in our shop. This time they visited the Real Avid stand—well renowned manufacturer of gunsmith and gun maintenance products and provided us with some intel on the following:

• Viz-Max bore sighter
• Prime-9 gun cleaning kit

Master Gun Vise

Almost every gun enthusiast tends to constantly extend their tools supply as well as the guns their own. Apart from the abovementioned, this tendency can also be seen in professional gunsmiths, who are always in pursuit for better tools and developments of their workshops. To meet the expectations of both of those groups, Real Avid decided to add the professional gunsmith vise to their already vast selection of products – the Master Gun Vise.

The most distinctive feature of the Master Gun Vise is the ability to very precise adjustment of the gun being held in it. You can easily adjust the gun you currently work with in any angle You may desire. It is especially important feature if you want to mount the optical sights—with Master Gun Vise you will be able to do it in a precise, easy way without unnecessary stress.

Another significant feature of Master Gun Vise are special jaw sleeves which you get along with the vise. They can be mounted easily with use of special pins, and their two-sided construction gives them a lot of flexibility when handling different types of guns.

One side is covered with soft but grippy foam, which can be especially useful if you want to work with rifles or shotguns fitted with wooden stocks or with delicate bodywork finishing. The foam prevents scratches but still provides firm but delicate grip.

Other side of each sleeve, in turn, is made of hard nylon, grooved and shaped to firmly hold especially guns with picantinny rails, silencers, or rifle barrels. Of course, they may be also used in every situation when delicate grip is not the most important.

Another thing worth mentioning is placing the whole body of the vise on an articulating ball and socket joint with speed-cam compression lever. This enables the owner to easily move, rotate, or spin the rifle, or just fix it in any angle. The major advantage of such construction is. that you do not need to release the jaws and reposition the gun each time. The only thing you need to do is to release the lever, fix the gun in the desired position and close the lever back.

To ensure even more precise weapon alignment, Real Avid fitted its product with a special Accu-Level Micro Adjustment Cam which can be especially useful if you need to mount optical sights.

In addition, the jaws of Master Gun Vise were fitted with special grooves to mount accessories for AR -15 family rifles maintenance, sold separately.

Viz Max

Another Real Avid product which we want to mention is the Viz Max laser bore sighter. Looking a bit like a recoil compensator, the device could be a compelling choice for everyone who want to bore sight their rifles in an easy and effective way.

The feature which makes the Real Avid Viz-Max special, is the use of the green laser instead of red one as usually seen in bore sighters. The green laser adds a lot of flexibility to the products, because it is known to be the best visible laser color during daytime. Therefore, you can easily bore sight your gun even exposed to a strong sunlight.

Prime-9

Another new interesting product from Real Avid is Prime 9 - the tactical gun cleaning kit for 9 mm, .38 and .357 handguns. The kit contains all cleaning tools needed for basic handgun maintenance.

One of the Prime-9 distinctive features is the kit case made of industrial resin. First of all, the container is designed to lay it flat after opening – which gives its user good access to every piece of the kit. Second, It is very slim, therefore it can be fitted in most tactical vest pouches or in a backpack. Third – all the kit components are locked in place and held firmly in their sockets, which prevents them from being lost.

Despite the small size, the kit contains a considerable number of tools. In Prime-9 we can find bore brushes, a bore rod, 30 bore patches, phosphor and bronze brushes, a 6’ rod and a carbon pick.

As you can see, Real Avid, despite worldwide trade difficulties, stays consistent developing new products for gun enthusiasts and professional gunsmiths as well. We deeply hope, that the things will stay that way, and we will be still able to offer Real Avid top class products.
