Gerber - Applegate-Fairbairn Covert™ Folding Knife - 05786N
Covert™ was designed for Colonel Rex Applegate, a close combat instructor for the American Special Forces during World War II, based on the legendary Applegate-Fairbairn knife, by the famous knifemaker Bill Harsey and Butch Valloton. It successfully combines a proven combat knife with a blade folding mechanism, secured by Linerlock® and Interlock™.
The blade made of steel 154CM has a characteristic, tactical dagger profile, with one-sided partially serrated blade. It has an additional black coating that prevents light reflections. The blade is unfolded with a large, double-sided thumb pin. The notches at the top of the blade allow you to support the blade with your finger to make a precise or stronger cut.
The one-piece grip lining is made of glass fibre-reinforced nylon. Characteristic texture with longitudinal grooves provides a secure and comfortable grip in all conditions, and the selection of materials and shape of the handle ensures its durability and good balance of the knife. The internal skeleton of the knife, and all parts of its mechanism are made of hardened stainless steel, for maximum strength. On the back of the handle there is a clip allowing for carrying by the belt or in a pocket
